The Purlin Bearing Rib (PBR) panel is a staple in the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) industry. Unlike standard R-panels, the PBR profile incorporates an extended overlapping leg (the purlin bearing leg) that rests directly on structural purlins. This design provides critical support during installation, prevents fastener layout misalignment, and ensures a superior, weather-tight lap joint that prevents siphoning.

Our roll formers process raw material coil thickness ranging from 0.4mm to 0.8mm (26 to 22 gauge) with standard yield strengths of G300 up to G550 high-tensile steel.

Forming Station Geometry

Achieving clean rib formation without stretching or scratching prepainted Galvalume or PVDF coated sheets requires progressive forming steps. Our machines utilize 18 to 24 roll forming stations (depending on raw material tensile range).

The rollers are CNC-machined from GCr15 bearing steel or Cr12 mold steel, vacuum heat-treated to HRC 58-62, and precision ground. They are subsequently hard-chrome plated to a thickness of 0.05mm to guarantee high wear-resistance and zero marking on delicate surfaces.
